Glacier Gorge is the deep valley which lies 2,000 feet below and between Thatchtop Mountain, McHenrys Peak, and Longs Peak. It is roughly 6 miles long and 2 miles wide at its greatest width.
Ten lakes are found in this area, with Mills Lake and Black Lake foremost among them. Glacier Creek flows out of Glacier Gorge to join the Big Thompson River near Tuxedo Park near the South Lateral Moraine. Limber pines, shaped by the high winds that blow the length of the gorge, sit perched on ledges above it.
Our Virtual Trail goes to Mills Lake and we can see the awesome cliffs that make up the Gorge. #
